From September 11 to 17, $116, 418 was raised for the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation through sales of Smile Cookies at Winnipeg Tim Hortons locations.
This year’s donation puts the total amount raised for CRF during the past three annual campaigns over $364,000.
Since 2003, the national campaign has raised more than $46-million for charities across Canada. This year’s Smile Cookie sales raised funds for 460 charities and non-profit organizations.
“We are absolutely blown away by Tim Hortons commitment to their local communities,” says Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation Executive Director, Christine Schollenberg. “We are also humbled by the support of Winnipeggers who showed they care deeply for the work we do improving the lives of children and families with disabilities.”
The money donated to the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation will be used to purchase specialized equipment and fund adaptive recreational programs for children living with disabilities. One piece of equipment—whether it’s a bike or an iPad—opens up a world of independence and has the ability to change the lives of children and their families.
