CRF presents RBC with Miracle Worker Award

Oct 20, 2017

CRF Executive Director, Christine Schollenberg, presents RBC Vice President Commercial Financial Services, Glenn Crook, with the 2017 Miracle Worker Award at A Night of Miracles gala on October 14 at RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg.

Each year, at our A Night of Miracles gala, CRF has the pleasure of honouring a group or individual that shines bright in the eyes of the foundation with the Miracle Worker Award.

This year, the Miracle Worker Award was handed out to RBC.

Below is an excerpt from CRF Executive Director Christine Schollenberg’s speech, celebrating RBC’s dedication towards improving the lives of children living with disabilities:

“This is not your average Canadian corporation. RBC is a community-minded, socially responsible, volunteering machine!

RBC’s dedication to volunteering is not typical. It is embedded in their DNA—or maybe in their interview questions. It is instilled from the top executives down.

Since 2007, RBC employees have been involved on many levels with the foundation. They have sat on the RBC Cruisin’ down the Crescent Committee, sold countless raffle tickets because they are so darn competitive, volunteered at our golf tournaments as well as at our A Night of Miracles gala.

Since 2007, thousands of volunteer hours have been logged by this highly competitive and incredible group of individuals. Tonight, we honor each and every employee of RBC for the dedication of your time, your talents, and your treasures.

Since 2007, you have been the catalyst for helping us raise over $1.5-million through RBC Cruisin’ down the Crescent, and events like tonight’s A Night of Miracles.

Tonight all of you are a part of the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation village. As the saying goes: A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. The world will be different because I was important in the life of a child!”
